Referencing error
[edit]I reverted an edit that created an undefined reference error in this article. Turns out that the error was due to an updated ref=
parameter to {{Infobox language}}, which magically produces a named reference. In the original edit, the reference was changed from "e18" to "e25". Problem is, the "e18" reference is used elsewhere in the article, in the ethnicity
parameter in the same template.
@A455bcd9:, since you're driving this update, how can you complete it without introducing referencing errors in the article? Is it appropriate to use two different references for the "ethnicity" and "speakers" values? Shouldn't they bey updated at the same time, from the same source?
I've again reverted the update so that the article doesn't have referencing problems until this can be addressed. -- Mikeblas (talk) 16:05, 20 December 2022 (UTC)
- Hi @Mikeblas, thanks for pinging me, I've just fixed the issue. a455bcd9 (Antoine) (talk) 16:07, 20 December 2022 (UTC)
- Thanks! So it is okay to have the references point to two different years? Usually, that's awwkard. I don't have a subscription to the site, so I can't verify what it says about this language. -- Mikeblas (talk) 16:35, 20 December 2022 (UTC)
- @Mikeblas, yes, I think it's okay. But here it's the same reference anyway. If you want to have access to Ethnologue you can join their Contributor program and get a free access (that's what I did). You can also upvote it in the Wikipedia Library suggestion list to ask the Wikimedia Foundation to add Ethnologue to their list of free resources for active contributors.
